Whiplash is a term you may have heard which describes a common neck injury. It's caused by the sudden movement of the head forwards, backwards or sideways.

If you're involved in a car accident the impact on collision can cause you to jolt while your body is held in place by your seatbelt your head can jerk sharply causing you an injury. Whiplash injuries can also be caused by sudden impact to the head such as a fall.
