Immigration | What employers need to know after Brexit

Immigration | What employers need to know after Brexit

On 1 January 2021, a new points-based immigration system came into effect for EU and non-EU nationals. These changes mean that employers who wish to employ individuals from outside the UK, excluding Irish citizens, now need to apply for a sponsor licence in advance.

Employment and Immigration Solicitor, Maria Gravelle hosted a short webinar to discuss the new scheme and answer attendee questions.

Topics covered included:

  • Requirements of the Skilled Worker visa;
  • Applying for settlement under the Skilled Worker route;
  • Alternatives to sponsorship, including the EU Settlement Scheme, Youth Mobility, Intra-Company Transfer and Global Talent routes;
  • Performing Right to Work checks from 1 January 2021.

If you have questions about employer sponsor licences and recruiting skilled workers from outwith the UK, please contact Maria or any member of the Immigration team on 03330 430350

Broadcast: 9 February 2021. The content in this webinar, guidance and advice provided by the host, is correct at the time of broadcast. If you are watching a recording after the broadcast date please contact us for the most up to date guidance and advice on this topic.
