What happened to Patience and Buchan?

In October 2025, Patience and Buchan merged with Thorntons. The Aberdeen team and office remain the same - you'll simply be instructing Thorntons going forward.

Are Patience and Buchan’s offices still open?

Yes. We're still at 10 Golden Square, Aberdeen - now operating as Thorntons.

I have an ongoing matter, what should I do?

You should have been contacted about any ongoing matters Patience and Buchan were dealing with for you, outlining what will happen next and what you need to do. If you haven’t heard anything, please contact us.

I have an upcoming appointment booked, will it go ahead?

If you already have an appointment arranged, it will go ahead as planned. You will now be instructing Thorntons, but the arrangements remain the same. If any changes are needed, someone will be in touch to arrange an alternative time that suits you.

What happens to my will or title deeds?

All documents previously held by Patience and Buchan are now securely stored by Thorntons. You don't need to do anything.
