Iain is a Solicitor and Notary Public in our Dispute Resolution and Claims team.

Iain acts for both business and individual clients on a wide range of commercial litigation matters including contractual disputes, professional negligence, construction, landlord/tenant, farming disputes, partnership disputes, cross-border disputes, consumers rights, and regulatory defence work (such as SSSC and regulatory disciplinary matters). He acts for clients in matters in the Court of Session and the Sheriff Courts. He has a keen interest in advocacy and frequently appears in courts and tribunals throughout Scotland.

He actively encourages clients to consider alternative forms of dispute resolution where appropriate, such as mediation and arbitration. Iain is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Iain is recognised for his excellent client care and his cost conscious advice. He strives to keep clients constantly updated and focuses on pro-active and creative solutions to resolve disputes.

Before qualifying as a Solicitor in Scotland, Iain gained over ten years’ experience at an international firm in the City of London dealing with high-value, complex cross-border disputes.

Iain has an interest in the development of the law surrounding the enforcement of private parking tickets throughout the UK. In July 2018, he had an article published in the Law Society of Scotland’s Journal on ‘The Perils of Parking’.
