
Sue is a Legal Director in our private client team and has recently become our private client Professional Support Lawyer. In this new role, Sue is supporting the partners of the Private Client team with several strategic projects, to improve the client experience and make our Thorntons colleagues’ workflow more streamlined and efficient. Sue also helps plan and deliver training programmes to the legal staff, as well as providing briefings on new legislation. She also undertakes legal research tasks that are pertinent to our current client cases.
Sue has been assisting individuals and families in Fife with their legal needs since 2005 and has been practicing law since completing her honours legal degree and diploma at the University of Aberdeen in 2002. Sue’s legal degree also includes Accountancy. Sue is a solicitor and notary public.

Sue offers clients expert tailored advice on all areas of personal legal arrangements, such as Wills, Powers of Attorney, Adults with Incapacity, Capital Taxes, Trusts and later years planning, as well as the administration of Executry estates.
As one of the first solicitors in Scotland to complete the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners’ (STEP) formal Tax, Accountancy, Trust and Estate exams in 2009, she particularly enjoys guiding people in future proofing their estates and the set up and administration of Trusts.
