Our Career Insight Sessions are designed to help you explore the legal profession, hear from those working in it, and gain a better understanding of the opportunities available.
During these half-day sessions, you'll have the opportunity to meet our people, hear from experienced lawyers, and learn about the different pathways into law. You'll also gain valuable insight into the skills, experiences and opportunities that can help you build a successful legal career.
These sessions are open to S4–S6 students who are interested in exploring a future career in law.
Our next Career Insight Sessions will take place in June 2027 across Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Perth, with both morning and afternoon sessions available.

Prime Legal Work Experience Programme
As part of our commitment to widening access to the legal profession, we are proud to offer the PRIME Legal Work Experience Programme — a week-long placement designed for school students from less-advantaged backgrounds.
The programme provides a supportive and engaging introduction to the legal profession, helping students develop their understanding of the law, build confidence, and explore the wide range of opportunities available within a legal career.
What you'll experience
- Hands-on legal tasks – Take part in practical activities such as case studies, legal research and drafting exercises.
- Shadowing and mentoring – Spend time with experienced solicitors and gain insight into their day-to-day work.
- Interactive workshops – Develop key legal and professional skills, including negotiation, advocacy and client communication.
- Courtroom experience – Visit a local court and see the legal system in action.
