Malcolm has almost 40 years experience in a variety of areas of the law, the earlier years of which were spent in general practice advising on a wide range of legal issues affecting clients.
This gives Malcolm a unique perspective to his current practice where he now advises clients on Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts and tax and succession planning. Malcolm also assists those who require to wind up an estate offering a reassuring and dependable approach clients appreciate. Many of his clients are elderly and they also appreciate his common sense approach.
Malcolm acts as a Trustee on a number of charitable trusts and as an adviser to the Trustees of many others.
He joined Thorntons in 2005, following a merger with Dundee firm W R Scott & Soutar. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Executry Practitioners (STEP) and is a frequent speaker at our Thorntons seminars.
