Linsey, a partner in the Land and Rural Business Team based in Edinburgh, is recommended in the authoritative Legal 500 for 2016 and is described as ‘determined and imaginative’. She has a particular interest in rural land reform and the effect of new legislation on rural businesses and estates.
Linsey advises on a broad range of agricultural and rural business and property matters specialising in the sale, purchase and leasing of rural property, including farms and estates. She deals regularly with agricultural security work and has significant experience with Solar, Hydro and Wind Farm developments. Linsey also has experience of dealing with voluntary registration of title, claw-back agreements and securities, deeds of servitude, creating real burdens, deeds of condition and all agricultural matters including salmon fishings. She regularly acts in the purchase and sale of large rural houses with land attached.
Linsey also has in-depth knowledge of rural and agricultural issues as they affect landowners. She has provided opinions for other firms of solicitors on rural land and property issues, and has experience of Commercial Property and Public Sector work. Linsey also has a wide-ranging knowledge of ethical matters having been Deputy Director of Professional Practice at the Law Society of Scotland for nine years as a break from mainstream law for family reasons, prior to joining Turcan Connell in 2004. Linsey has an extensive track record of getting the right results for her clients, and works collaboratively with them to achieve successful outcomes.
