Accredited Specialist in Family Law.

Amanda is a key member of our Dispute Resolution and Claims team in Dundee focusing solely on family law matters for all of her professional career. Accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Family Law, she is a prominent Family Law Solicitor in Tayside as former Director of Relationships Scotland – Family Mediation Tayside and Fife and a member of the Family Law Association.

Amanda advises on all matters related to family law, including separation, divorce, residence/contact disputes, cohabitation matters, prenuptial agreements, civil partnerships, adoptions and protective remedies such as interdicts/exclusion orders.

As a trained collaborative lawyer, she recognises the importance of trying to achieve an amicable, respectful settlement, particularly where there are children involved. She is keen to promote alternative methods of resolution such as collaborative law and mediation, wherever possible. However, she also appreciates that for some, court may be the only option.

Amanda has extensive experience in representing clients in Sheriff Court disputes and appears at Dundee Sheriff Court on a weekly basis. She also appears at other courts throughout Scotland and has experience in instructing Counsel in Court of Session cases.

Amanda also tutors post-graduate students in Professional Ethics at the University of Dundee and is Vice Dean of the Faculty of Procurators and Solicitors in Dundee.
