Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law.
Iain has over 30 years’ experience as a solicitor and has been an accredited specialist in Personal Injury Law since 2003. He was only the third solicitor in Scotland to be made a Fellow of the Association of Personal injury Lawyers.
Iain has a varied reparation caseload, handling mainly high value medical negligence, fatal and catastrophic injury cases, litigated mainly in the Court of Session. He acts for both Pursuers and Defenders. He has a particular interest in professional, including solicitors’, negligence claims and is a founding member of the Law Society’s Pursuers’ Panel. He was a Peer reviewer for the Law Society for 15 years and has delivered peer review seminars as far afield as Beijing. He has extensive experience of training solicitors of all levels of experience, assisting with the development of business plans and business acumen. Iain chairs the 6 monthly Personal Injury Conferences for CLT and regularly speak at CPD events.
Iain works alongside Clare MacPherson and our Dispute Resolution and Personal Injury teams in Edinburgh. His aim is to always provide high quality, client centred and commercially focussed advice.
Iain is the author of “Expenses: A Civil Practitioner’s Handbook due for publication in September 2022. In his spare time, he’s a member of the Tartan Army, supporting the Scotland Football team home and away.
