A Solicitor in our IP, Media and Technology team in Edinburgh, Danielle advises on all areas of Intellectual Property including trademarks, brand protection and copyright issues. She is experienced in advising on contentious trade mark oppositions, national and international registration and IP licensing. She also regularly advises clients in the music industry on copyright issues.
Danielle is particularly interested in how virtual environments and emerging technologies may assist businesses accelerate their future progression. She also assists Alistair Lang and our High Growth team by providing advice to start-up businesses on general corporate matters including the protection of confidential information, charity law and drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts.
Danielle is is dedicated to building strong client relationships and offering commercially focused and implementable advice, and is proactive in offering solutions to clients in challenging circumstances.
Danielle has a strong academic knowledge in Intellectual Property. Before joining Thorntons as a Trainee, she studied for her LLB at the University of Strathclyde. She also obtained her Diploma in Legal Practice and LLM in Intellectual Property and the Digital Economy at the University of Glasgow. Her LLM thesis on trade marks was also published in the GULS Law Review in 2019. She has also completed the Passport to Practice programme and has experience as a Career Ready Mentor.
