Working alongside Partner, Liam McMonagle, Danielle advises individuals, public sector organisations and businesses on a range of intellectual property issues, as well as offering advice on commercial contracts and research collaborations. She is also experienced in advising on contentious trade mark oppositions, brand protection, copyright issues, national and international IP registration, and IP licensing.

Danielle also offers practical data protection advice and support to a range of clients across different sectors through the provision of the outsourced Data Protection Officer Services. Her key areas of expertise include advising on data sharing arrangements, confidentiality agreements, policies and notices, international transfers of data and undertaking Privacy Impact Assessments.

She is dedicated to building strong client relationships and offering commercially focused and implementable advice, and is proactive in offering solutions to clients in challenging circumstances.

Danielle has a strong academic knowledge in Intellectual Property. Before joining Thorntons as a Trainee, she studied for her LLB at the University of Strathclyde. She also obtained her Diploma in Legal Practice and LLM in Intellectual Property and the Digital Economy at the University of Glasgow. Her LLM thesis on trademarks was also published in the GULS Law Review in 2019. She has also completed the Passport to Practice programme and has experience as a Career Ready Mentor.
