Short Assured tenancies receive their notice to quit.
Landlords and tenants will have to adjust to life without the familiar short assured tenancies following the enactment of The Private Housing (Tenancies) (Scotland) Act 2016 which has introduced a new tenancy regime for the private rented sector.
One of the last pieces of legislation to be completed before the Scottish Parliament broke for the Scottish Parliamentary Election established a new residential tenancy regime which will replace Short Assured Tenancies when it comes into force, probably in late 2017.
Once it has received Royal Assent this will be known as The Private Housing (Tenancies) (Scotland) Act 2016.
