Eleven solicitors progress their careers with top Scottish employer

Supporting employee development remains a priority for leading Scottish law firm Thorntons, with eleven solicitors promoted in July alone.

Two senior solicitors have been promoted to associates and nine solicitors have been made senior solicitors across the Edinburgh, Dundee, Fife, Perth and Angus offices.

These promotions come shortly after Thorntons secured a place in the top 35 Best Companies to Work For in Scotland list. This accolade recognises the firm as not only one of the best places to work within the legal industry, but one of the best companies to work for in Scotland across all sectors.

The two new associates are Lynne MacIntyre from residential conveyancing in Forfar and Stuart Mackie from the private client team in Montrose.

The three new senior solicitors in Dundee are Steven Drake from residential conveyancing and Joanne Clancy and Lynsay McFarlane, both from personal injury.

Three further new senior solicitors are from the Edinburgh office, they are Thomas Redpath, personal injury, Neil Falconer, intellectual property, and Megan Sweeney, private client.

The final senior solicitor promotion is for Chris Gardiner, private client in St Andrews.

Colin Graham, Chairman at Thorntons, said: “Training and development is a core part of our growth strategy and it’s a real pleasure to announce eleven promotions this month.

“Developing our own talent and encouraging internal career progression provides motivation for our colleagues to work hard for our clients and the firm as a whole. Congratulations to our newly appointed associates and senior solicitors.”
