Cost: £75+vat per person.
This masterclass will look at effective performance management with a particular emphasis on preventative measures and more challenging cases where ill health or disability might arise. A must for managers who are new to dealing with such situations and a useful reminder for the more experienced manager.
Employers have to be confident that they follow performance management procedures correctly. If a dismissal on the grounds of capability results, the procedure may have to stand up to the scrutiny of an Employment Tribunal. Even a grievance can be distressing, disruptive and time consuming. By acting at an early stage and in line with best practice employers stand the best chance of avoiding grievances as well as claims of unfair dismissal and unlawful discrimination.
The masterclass will look at issues including:
- The importance of using capability, grievance and disciplinary procedures well including informal vs formal performance management and prevenative measures - induction and probation
- How to investigate fairly including formal capability process - getting it right
- What to do if the employee has a medical issue or disability that impacts on work
