Thorntons staff make a splash for charity

Thorntons staff make a splash for charity An adventurous group of staff from Thorntons raise £1,600 for charity after taking on a dare-devil challenge. The team of eight from Thorntons, in Arbroath, raised the incredible sum by taking part in the White Water Rafting challenge to raise vitals funds for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland.

Ashley McGonagle, Laura Sinclair, David Mathieson, Robin Beattie, Carol-Ann Squire, Gillian Stewart, Joanne Bell and Heather Ramsay experienced some of the fastest white water in Scotland when they took to the River Tay recently.

The two-hour challenge included a three-mile flat water race before the heart stopping 'shootings the rapids' experience on the internationally graded river.

The team has thanked clients and the local community for their support.

Ashley, executry paralegal at Thortons, said: "The team at Thorntons is extremely grateful to everyone who donated to our white water rafting challenge. It was a really fun way to raise funds for such a deserving charity and we are delighted that we can hand over £1,600 to Chest, Heart and Stoke Scotland."

This is the second year running the firm has supported the charity, raising more than £5,000 in that time.
