As an Accredited Specialist in Agricultural law, Mike is well known as a speaker on AgriLegal topics and is increasingly consulted on unusual aspects of rural tenancy, landowning, business and taxation issues. As head of Thorntons' nationally recognised Land & Rural Business Law team, he has particular knowledge on Forestry, Sportings and Environmental matters. The 2008 Edition of Chambers and Partners commented on Mike saying, "Mike earns recognition for his “sensible and direct approach.” Sources hail him as “very clued-up” on forestry, sporting and environmental matters and as “among the top five in the country” for estate acquisitions’’.
