Thorntons Solicitors has appointed Richard Blake as a consultant to join the leading legal firm’s Land and Rural Business team based in its new Perth office.

Richard’s specialised knowledge in salmon fishings spans more than two decades, during which he as handled all legal queries to the Tay District Salmon Fisheries Board in his role as clerk.

Mike Blair, head of the Land and Rural Business team at Thorntons said: “Richard is a valuable accession which will help strengthen and continue the success of the team at Thorntons.

“He is a well-known and highly regarded figure in the rural sector and we are confident he will contribute greatly to the firm and benefit new and existing clients.”

Thorntons has a long tradition of both working and forming part of the rural community across Scotland.

Richard’s knowledge and expertise will reinforce the existing team which includes two specialists accredited by the Law Society of Scotland in Agricultural Law, partners Mike Blair and the only female accredited in agricultural law, Elizabeth Plath.
