  • Members of team seconded to four different university commercialisation offices dealing with the various work types listed below.
  • Establishing a research institute as a result of an eight university collaboration. As well as corporate structure and finance issues, Thorntons also negotiated complex cross-party copyright licences between the university members and various rights holders in order to build a first of its kind online teaching resource.
  • Establishing a major international collaborative association of medical schools and institutions for the provision of medical education and training worldwide.
  • Advising a leading Scottish university on research, licensing and revenue sharing arrangements in respect of a multi-million pound initiative with Wellcome Trust/Catalyst Biomedica.
  • Advising on spin out activity from commencement to completion, including commercialisation strategy, assignation/licensing options, secondment/transfer of personnel, company structure, and investment rounds.
