Farming Scotland Conference 2012

Date: Thursday 2 February 2012
Venue: Carnoustie Golf Hotel
Cost: £65 per person (inc VAT)

The ninth annual Farming Scotland Conference will take place at Carnoustie Golf Hotel, on Thursday 2 February 2012, at 8.45am.

The conference is organised and co-sponsored by Thorntons, EQ, Royal Bank of Scotland and Bell Ingram, and has become an established date in the agribusiness calendar. Once again we have assembled an impressive list of speakers, who will each give their own perspective on the "Uncertain Times" facing agriculture.

Our speakers include Dr Alan Renwick, Head of the Land Economy and Environment Research Group at SAC. Alan is currently heading up research for the Scottish Government on Sustainable Farming Systems.

Caroline Evans is head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at the Potato Council. She has a proven track record of devising and delivering effective marketing strategies, and she will give her outlook on the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.

Farmers Weekly Young Farmer of the Year 2011 is James Down, from Taunton in Somerset. James took over running his family's 900 acre mixed farm eight years ago, and has simplified its operations while at the same time improving profits.

For full details of the event and to request a booking form please email events@thorntons-law.co.uk.

We very much hope that you will come along and enjoy this conference and what you hear and discuss will help to stimulate thought and debate within the Scottish agricultural community.
