Clients of Tayside's largest legal firm have raised a whopping £21,500 for a local children's charity. Thorntons Solicitors collected the incredible amount during a month-long fundraising initiative and this week handed over the huge cheque to Cash for Kids, the Radio Tay listeners' charity. Cash for Kids helps children and young people across Dundee, Angus and Perthshire. Its work includes buying specialist equipment for children with physical disabilities, providing respite for families with chronically ill children to helping fund play schemes and breakfast clubs. |

Thorntons, whose head office is in Dundee's Yeaman Shore, dedicates every November to raising funds for charity through a Charity Wills initiative with the most recent campaign raising more money for Cash for Kids than ever before, thanks to the generosity of its clients.
Charity Wills sees all the offices in the firm waive their usual fee for anyone wishing to make or update a Will and instead ask that a donation is made to Cash for Kids.Thorntons and its clients have been raising money for the local charity through Charity Wills since 1997 and, since then, over £80,000 has been raised with this year's total topping the charts.
Malcolm Farquhar, Partner, said: "Due to the overwhelming support from our clients, we have been able to raise a record-breaking total this year.This is the most money every raised in one campaign for Cash for Kids.Over 300 people made or updated a Will with us during November and we are thrilled that we have been able to present a huge cheque to Cash for Kids on their behalf.
"We stress to our clients the importance of having an up-to-date Will as a safeguard for the future, so we are delighted that this initiative gives people the incentive to get round to doing it and to help a great local cause at the same time. We thank all of our clients for their kindness."

Thousands of local children will benefit from this donation and we would like to thank everyone involved in making it such a huge success."
