Tayside's top sporting talent will join forces tomorrow (Wednesday 22 September) for an all-star line up at the top table of one of the longest running charity events in the city.
The 18th annual Dundee Sportsman's Dinner which will take place at the Invercarse Hotel is set to recognise the achievements of local heroes from diverse sporting fields.
The awards presented by Scottish rugby great Gavin Hastings will honour outstanding achievement from sports stars which has in the past been awarded to personalities including Frank Hadden, Mark Beaumont and Rob Wainwright.
This year's National Sports Personality award will be presented to former Dundee player, Dundee United captain and Scotland international Lee Wilkie who has been an influential figure in Dundee footballing circles throughout his professional career.
Gifted young Perthshire golfer Bradley Neil will receive the PS Ridgway Trophy for outstanding local junior sports achievement. The 14-year-old sporting starlet has already been capped for Scotland and is the youngest ever club champion at Blairgowrie.
The Dundee Sportsman's Dinner has raised more than £245,000 for local sporting groups and individuals over the past 18 years and has been supported by many of the area's businesses many of which will be represented at the dinner.
The annual event sponsored by Fat Sam's, Thorntons Solicitors, Brewin Dolphin, Insights Learning & Development and Redwood Leisure aims to generate much needed funds for rising sports stars, clubs and groups serving people of all ages across Dundee.
