Tayside's leading legal firm is expanding its employment law team in Dundee with the appointment of a senior solicitor.
Thorntons Solicitors has announced that Nikki Butterworth has joined the firm's Yeaman Shore offices in Dundee where she will advise on all areas of employment law.
In her new role Nikki – who joins Thorntons from her most recent post at Maclay, Murray & Spens LLP in Aberdeen – will advise both commercial clients as well as individual employees on all aspects of UK employment law.
Nikki, who lives in Colliston, near Arbroath, has significant experience in transfer of employment implications of outsourcing, acquisitions and disposals, redundancy situations, handling difficult staff grievances and negotiating severance packages for senior employee departures.
Her extensive experience also includes employment tribunals, significant changes to terms and conditions of employment, post-termination restrictions as well as the preparation and review of employment contracts, employee handbooks and service agreements.
As well as dealing with the day to day needs of clients, Nikki will also present some of Thorntons' regular tailored in-house training workshops and seminars on UK employment law issues for clients and other businesses.
