Leading Commercial Property Lawyer Joins Thorntons

Thorntons, Tayside’s largest law firm, has further strengthened its team with the appointment of Ewan Miller as a commercial property partner within the business law division.

Ewan joins Thorntons after 13 years with another Dundee-based firm, where he began his career after completing his law degree at Aberdeen University, rising to become a partner in 2001.

The 35-year-old Dundonian specialises in commercial property work and has wide-ranging experience of advising a variety of clients including private investors, financial institutions and developers.

Married with two children, Ewan is also chairman of the Mary Slessor Foundation, a local charity which runs a hospital in Nigeria, secretary of Forthill Sports Club in Broughty Ferry and a member of Panmure Golf Club.

Nick Barclay, Thorntons managing partner, said: “I’m delighted to be able to welcome Ewan to the Thorntons team and feel sure he will make a real contribution to the firm’s future development.

“As Tayside’s leading commercial and corporate law firm, attracting high-calibre professionals such as Ewan to Thorntons is central to our continued success and that of our clients.”

Established in Dundee more than 150 years ago, Thorntons has 31 partners and employs almost 350 staff across its offices in Dundee, Perth, Arbroath, Forfar and Edinburgh advising on all aspects of the law, both commercial and personal.
