Construction law seminars go on site at Thorntons

Contractors and industry professionals across Tayside will be able to access expert advice on clearing the grey areas of construction law in a new series of free legal seminars.

Thorntons specialist construction law team is hosting the weekly information seminars starting on Wednesday 19 August which will cover common situations from which contractual problems can arise, as well as taking preventative actions and reaching solutions.

From entering into building contracts, calculating prolongation, liability for defects and potential pitfalls of novation agreements, Thorntons has designed the sessions to give firms of all sizes a clear insight into these issues and an opportunity to seek advice from the experienced team

Graham Jackson, associate with Thorntons' construction law team, said: "With the effects of the recession having a significant impact on the Scottish construction industry, it's now more important than ever for businesses to ensure they are on top of the game when it comes to entering into new contracts and having the correct procedures in place to prevent complications arising during projects."
