Tayside's leading legal firm has launched their annual fundraising campaign to raise awareness of the importance of having an up-to-date Will.
Charity Wills Month will take place throughout November and Thorntons will waive their fee for anyone wishing to make or update a Will.
Teaming up with Radio Tay, the firm will instead ask for a donation be made to listeners' charity Cash For Kids, which helps children and young people across Tayside.
Cash for Kids helps a wide variety of causes from buying specialist equipment for children with physical disabilities, respite for families with a chronically ill child to helping fund play schemes and breakfast clubs.
To launch this year's campaign, Thorntons associate, Claire Newton, paid a visit to the North Isla Street station to ensure the Radio Tay DJs were setting a good example by being the first people to make their Wills for the campaign.
Claire said: "Thorntons is dedicated to Charity Wills and can't stress enough how important it is for people to have a Will in place - no matter what age they are. There are a number of complicated and unnecessary problems that can arise as a result of not having a Will. Costs, delays and upsetting family disputes can escalate when there is no Will. All of this can be avoided by making a Will which is a relatively quick and easy process and there's no better time that November to do this."
Thorntons and their clients have been raising money for Cash For Kids for more than a decade and over £60,000 has been raised through Charity Wills since the first campaign in 1997.
Malcolm Farquhar, Partner at Thorntons, said: "We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Cash For Kids in Tayside, and we hope that people will take the opportunity to seek legal advice on having a Will in place while supporting our campaign to raise money for an extremely deserving local cause."
