Thorntons Makes Caring £14000 Contribution to Dundee Kids Charity

Tayside's largest legal firm has raised £14,000 for a Tayside charity thanks to big-hearted clients after running a charity wills campaign.

Thorntons Solicitors will hand over the cheque at Radio Tay's Audience with Caring for Kids tonight (Thursday) at the Invercarse Hotel after its fundraising bi-annual charity wills campaign for the charity.

During the month-long fundraising campaign last November, clients were encouraged to make a will or update an existing one but instead of paying Thorntons a fee, they made a donation to Caring for Kids.

Presenting the cheque to the charity, Nick Barclay, Managing Partner at Thorntons, said:"At Thorntons, we work hard across the firm to encourage our substantial client base to support Caring for Kids.

"Thorntons' clients both new and existing have beenoverwhelmingly supportive of Caring for Kids and I am delighted to present this cheque to the charity on their behalf.

"Our charity wills month provides an excellent opportunity for people to seek advice from a solicitor and have the chance to review all of their legal and financial affairs whilst helping an extremely worthwhile charity.

Alastair Brookes, for Caring for Kids, added: "We are delighted to have Thorntons at this year's Audience with Caring for Kids and once again their support has been invaluable to the work we do in the community.

"Their employees and clients have consistently supported Caring For Kids over the past decade and their efforts allow us to continue to make a difference to the lives of more children and young people each year."

As main sponsors of Caring for Kids, Thorntons' wills campaign for the charity has been running since 1998.
