Thorntons Delighted to Support Caring for Kids!

1 October 2004

Radio Tay listeners charity Caring for Kids are to get a big helping hand over the next 12 months from Thorntons, who have taken their interest in the local community one stage further by agreeing to sponsor Caring For Kids for the next year (2004-2005).

The major financial donation will allow Caring for Kids to continue helping vulnerable children in Tayside and will mean the Charity Auction 2004, Evening with Caring For Kids and the ever popular Bring A Pound to Work Day will all be brought to Radio Tay listeners in association with Thorntons.

The news comes after the most successful fundraising year in Caring For Kids history and takes Caring For Kids into the 2004 Charity Auction later this month with the opportunity to help even more children than the 21,000 who were awarded funds last year.

Thorntons have always fostered close links with Caring For Kids and this new sponsorship is an indication of the further commitment the firm has to the good works undertaken by this popular local charity.

Nick Barclay, Managing Partner commented, “We are delighted to have the opportunity to give our wholehearted support to Caring for Kids.

"It has to be one of the most thoughtful, successful and energetic charity campaigns anywhere in the country and we have been particularly impressed by its ability to make a real and direct difference to the lives of so many deserving children and young people in Tayside and North Fife.

“We hope our direct sponsorship of the charity campaign will help the Caring for Kids team set new records for fundraising for this most worthwhile of causes."

Caring for Kids trustee and Radio Tay Managing Director Ally Bally said the partnership comes at an exciting time for the charity and we are delighted to have secured the support of such a prominent business in Tay Territory!
