Deep in the depths of this gloomy economic climate, it is easy to be concerned about the games industry especially when prominent companies such as Realtime Worlds close down. However this week's BAFTA Video Games Awards (more formally known as the GAME British Academy Awards) shines a light on all the positive work the games industry has been involved in over the last 12 months.
Despite being nominated for 7 Awards, 'Assassin's Creed Brotherhood' by Ubisoft Entertainment/Ubisoft Montreal won only 1 award on the night Action category. 'Best Game' went to 'Mass Effect 2' by Electronic Arts/BioWare and the 'One to Watch Award' went to 'Twang' by That Game Studio. 'Heavy Rain' by Sony Computer Entertainment/Quantic Dream & XDev Studio Europe, scooped the most awards in the Story, Technical Innovation and Original Music categories. Congratulations to all nominees and winners!
