Firms Join Forces to Celebrate Local Talent and Raise Cash for Cancer Research

Two of Tayside's top firms are uniting to celebrate local talent by sponsoring a special art show in aid of Cancer Research UK at the Bonar Hall at Dundee University.

Henderson Loggie Chartered Accountants, has this year joined forces with leading solicitors Thorntons to launch the fifth annual exhibition at a special evening on Thursday (10 April), showcasing the work of 130 artists.

With around 400 paintings on display, the show aims to significantly add to the £50,000 total raised for Cancer Research UK through the previous four exhibitions.

More than 150 people are expected to attend the special opening evening of the exhibition which will then open its doors to the public from Friday (11 April) until lunchtime on Sunday (13 April).

Professor Roland Wolf from Dundee University's Molecular Pharmacology Unit will officially open the exhibition, speaking about how the charity funds his vital work.

David Smith, partner at Henderson Loggie, said: "As a firm with long-standing business connections in Tayside, Henderson Loggie welcomes the opportunity to support the work of Cancer Research and the many artists who will be represented at the exhibition.

"We hope that once again the money raised from the paintings on show will help fund the charity's vital work."

Jack Robertson, chairman at Thorntons, added: "Thorntons is delighted to be involved in sponsoring the exhibition alongside Henderson Loggie, not only to help celebrate the wealth of talent in the Tayside area but to raise money for those involved in all aspects of Cancer Research."
